thanks for your sweet mail. Today I am in the Apenninini, about 30 km from Parma, in a little town called Calestano. It's a medieval city near the Baganza river.
In this city during the Second World War three people of the Jewish family Mattei found here refuge and thanks to this Yad Vashem Institute gave to Ostilio and Amelia Barberi, Marshal Giacomo Avenia and to Don Ernesto Ollari the decoration called Righteous Among the Nations.
Calestano has wonderful painted walls, stone houses and little streets that give to it a magic atmosphere.few km from Calestano you can find the wonderful and fashinating Devil's Jumps which were created by the sudden withdrawal of the sea. They are extended for about 5 km and they are sorrounded by wonderful woods. You can reach them thanks to a path called "The Way of the Stonecutters". The legend speaks about the Devil that went hastily because of a cross taken by a holy local hermit.
Then I arrived to the Devil's Jumps I was suprised by the beuty of them, the one of the photo seems a cloak's hood.
