yesterday I visited an abadoned village called Cà Scapini. Most part of the village is hidden by a high vegetation, that invades all the houses that are resisting during the years.
The road that takes to the village is a very simple one and sails along the coast a small river that accompains you till Cà Scapini. The silence here was quite absolute and you can hear only the sounds of nature.
There are a lot of histories about this village. The first I heard speaks about a gilr that was found mutilated in the churchyard of the village. Rumors ran fast, and villagers said that the girl was killed by a bear or by a witch, but the village was misteriously abandoned during the Second World War.
The village became lagend and legends live forever, but it's impossible to know why and when exactly the village was abandoned.
The most accepted history speaks about Nazis that killed all the villagers, but the most diquieting speaks about children who was able to escape from Nazis but they died there because of hunger and thrist.
A lot of people hear the voices of this seven children and other see the shadows of villagers.
It seems that, even in the minicipality of Bardi, it's impossible to find news about Cà Scapini.
This is the legend, but I discovered that the last habintant left Cà Scapini around 1978. She was 13 years old and she said that there are no legends around it. Her house is now collapsed but she doesn't think she will be back again to her beloved place.
But legend or not legend, Cà Scapini is really fashinating with this all collapsed houses and the nature that protect ths history of the place.
With love,
Sigyn
