Discovering Via Francigena. (itinerary 1): Vigolo Marchese

Dear Tom
I am continuing on my discovering on the Francigena Way.
This time I stopped in Vigolo Marchese, a small village only few km from Castell'Arquato. There you can find a romanic basilica dating around the 1108 and a bastistery that was build before the basilica. Probably before the baspitstery was a pagan temple and became during the years a chaple dedicated to S. Stefano and then bapitstery
There was also a castle, but today is a winery, a wonderful winery. The castle was build during XVI century by earls Sforza of Santa Fiora.
With Love
Sigyn
