Sala Baganza Fortress

My dear Tom,
I visited another Castle of the ducky of Parma and Piacenza: Sala Banganza. This fortess is really imposing.
First news of a "castellum de Sala" dates back to the 1254 when Teseo or Teodisio Sanvitale became the its lord.
In the 1477 Gilberto III Sanvitale obtained the authorization to enlarge his "platinum" and he transformed it in an imposing quadirlateral.
During the 1612 the fortess was given to Farnese family and in the 1723 was choosen as home by Antonio Farnese who gave to Sebastiano Galeotti the task to paint all the rooms  ot the oriental part of the fortess.
1987 part of the fortess became propriety of the municiplaity of Sala Baganza.
With love
Sigyn
