Discovering Via Francigena. (itinerary 1): Bardi

Dear Tom,
my trip around francigena Way takes my to one of my favourite place: Bardi and its fortess.
History and legend are mixd here. Legends tell that under the fortess there is buried an elefant of Hannibal that passed near Bardi. The fortress is a good example of military architecture, with walls, walkways and watchtowers.
Important is the curch called Madonna Addolorata where there is a paiting of the faous Parmigianino (The wedding of S. Caterina).
Bardi is sorrounded by wonderful mountains, where you can find a lot of paths passable by walk, by mountainbike or horse.
With love
Sigyn
