Tabiano, where I was this morning, is a wonderful small village near Salsomaggiore.
The history of this vilalge goes together with the history of the castle. First new of settlements date back to the prehistory, but it's not possibile to know the exact period when the castle was built, but it seems that it was build around the IX by Pallavicino.
Maria Luigia of Austria, the second wife of Napoleone, was one of the famous guests that staied here. Some year laters the house of Maria Luigia was transformed into a hotel.
Other important people that came here were Giuseppe Verdi and Giovanni Verga.
Now the thermal baths of Tabiano are propriety of the municipality of Salsomaggiore Terme.
